Thanks is Not Enough!
There is no better way to celebrate a day set aside to acknowledge women and diversity, than to honor two women who dedicated countless hours to giving volume to the voices of vulnerable women around the world, survivors of human trafficking. When a call for volunteers is cast, the truth is, you never know who will answer. Because, by definition, volunteers rarely receive tangible rewards for their time and dedication to the cause they sign up for. Making it all the more admirable and humbling when someone of great influence, expertise and experience commits their time and talent to the eradication of human trafficking.
Two such women joined the Board of Directors on the eve of Nomi Networks’ birth, lending their wisdom, voices, and hearts to the fight against human trafficking. Dr. Laura Lederer and Jennifer Anderson added one more thing to their busy lives, because when their hearts were moved, they were moved to action. For the last four years, both women have tirelessly served to help shape the start-up organization and helped direct Nomi’s developments, bringing both expertise and enthusiasm to so many of Nomi’s initiatives.
Laura is currently Vice President of Policy and Planning at Global Centurion, an NGO working to stop child sexual slavery. Jennifer currently works in New York City as the Chief Operating Officer of Slated, Inc. We will miss them dearly and wish them the best as they carry on in their own career endeavors. Their fingerprints will remain, displaying examples of successful leadership to those that follow in their footsteps.
Thank you for all that you did for Nomi Network. We are grateful you heard the call. And even more so, that you answered. And women around the world applaud you with their changed lives; your work has helped to rewrite their stories!
