Shopping With Heart Event A Success!

Valentine’s Day always seems to come up fast! What did you get that special someone in your life? Well, on February 13^th Nomi Network had the opportunity to co-host an event with Same Sky to help individuals answer this question with real heart.

The Same Sky organization, founded by award-winning producer, Francine LeFrak, makes the skill of jewelry making available for HIV-positive women in Rwanda. Through this craft, the women are now able to support their families and pull themselves out of poverty. The beads are specially handcrafted and each bracelet comes with the artisans’ signature.

The event, branded as “Shop with Heart”, was a special opportunity for Nomi Network and Same Sky, two organizations passionate about empowering women, to come together with many of their supports and friends in order to raise awareness. These followers were able to touch, feel, and learn more about the stories behind the products while sipping on drinks in a friendly and hopeful atmosphere. Sponsored by One Group and the Gansevoort Park Avenue, this event took place in the Gansevoort Lounge, an ideal location situated in the center of New York City with an outstanding view.

There was a special guest at this gathering as well, Danielle Doty, Miss Teen USA! Having gotten the chance to speak with her personally, she is truly a picture of beauty inside and out and a wonderful role model. She absolutely loved all the products and we shared one of our bags with her.

As exciting and unpredictable as Valentine’s Day can be, one thing is certain, the reality of providing empowerment opportunities for even more women nations away is becoming closer and closer with each passing moment.
